Spacebits at SXSW 2012

NewImage

Early this year we submitted what seemed a very unlikely scenario: a panel proposal to speak at SXSW 2012.

SXSW Interactive takes place in Austin, Texas US and is currently one of largest conferences for creators and entrepreneurs in the world, taking the city down for five incredibly non-stop frenetic days featuring hundreds of panels ranging from themes like the web, internet, science, arts and others. More than 14.000 participants joined in last year.

Well, to our surprise, we were accepted and invited to speak at SXSW 2012 about our Portuguese Near Space project. We feel immensely proud and honored for this.

The team has decided to accept the invitation so expect us at the Driskill Hotel in March. We hope to travel with some of our gear and show it off to you and we’ll certainly prepare the best presentation of the project we can, including the juicy bits of what we’ve learned for the last year and a half.

Also, we’re wondering about the chance to launch a Spacebits 7 flight right from Austin during that week but further contacts with local volunteers are required before we can confirm this. We’re working on it.

If you’re going to be at SXSW next year, don’t forget to join us, otherwise stay tuned with our blog, we’ll keep in touch as much as we can.
